Who we are

A global studio, making films in New York

We make films in New York for finance, technology and brand teams: brand films, corporate films, announcement films and fireside chats, from the first idea to the final grade. We’ve filmed in sixteen countries, New York among them, with 500+ productions behind us.

Most films pass through two suppliers: an agency writes the idea, then hands it to a production company to make. In New York we run all five stages as one team, and tell you where we are every Friday.

    Brief

    What the film has to do, agreed before anyone mentions cameras. We read every brief within 2 working hours.

  2. 02

    The idea

    A written treatment, or a topic map for a conversation. For Nevis × Focus we wrote three acts and every question, with no lines to read.

  3. 03

    Pre-production

    Locations, the Mayor’s Office permit when a shoot needs one, COIs naming the building, casting and crew.

  4. 04

    Shoot

    A New York crew, employed and insured for the job and sized to the day. On the Upper East Side: three interviews, then a three-way conversation on five cameras, in one afternoon.

  5. 05

    Post

    Edit, grade and sound by our own post team, with every format the plan needs. Nevis × Focus went through five cuts in eight days.

Do you produce films in New York?

Yes. We make films in New York for finance, technology and brand teams, from the idea to the final grade. Nevis × Focus, the announcement film for Nevis and Focus Financial Partners, was shot in one afternoon in a library on the Upper East Side. For AlTi Tiedemann Global we filmed senior leadership for The Purpose of Wealth near Union Square, and a multi-camera fireside chat between AlTi and Nevis in Chelsea. Each job gets a New York crew, and our own post team cuts, grades and mixes every film.

Where’s your team?

Our headquarters are in London, and our producers plan, book and run every New York job from there. The crew on the day is New York’s, employed and insured for the shoot, and our own post team cuts, grades and mixes the film. You deal with one company from the brief to the final files, and our team reads every brief within 2 working hours.

Who’s on the crew? Union or non-union?

New York crews, sized to the brief, with every crew member employed and insured for the job. We book non-union crews by default for corporate, brand and documentary work. If your production is signatory to a union agreement, or a commercial needs union crew, we quote at scale. Payroll, New York workers’ compensation and the certificates of insurance your location asks for come with the booking.

Do we need a film permit in New York?

Not if the crew is hand-held or on a tripod and doesn’t take exclusive use of a street or park. Equipment beyond that, parked production vehicles and exclusive use all need a permit from the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment: $500 for each 14-day period, with at least $1,000,000 of general liability insurance naming the City of New York (checked October 2026). On the films we produce, we handle the application.

What does a New York production cost?

If you only need a crew, a DP and a sound recordist start at $2,255 for a 10-hour day with our booking fee, and payroll, insurance, kit and travel go on the quote. Every price is in dollars.

Can you crew a New York shoot for a production coming from the UK or Europe?

Yes. You brief us in your own working day and we book a New York crew sized to the shoot: DP, camera, sound, lighting, PAs and whatever else the day needs. You get one quote in dollars with every line on it: day rates, our 10% booking fee, payroll and insurance at cost, kit and travel. Every crew member is employed and insured for the job, and nothing is booked until you’ve approved the quote.
