Films Produced

We make documentary inspired lifestyle productions for brands and cultural movements.

Here Now Films is a UK video production company, headquartered in London, that makes brand films, seasonal campaigns and TV commercials for lifestyle and retail brands — including seven national campaigns for FatFace, Whistlefish’s first television commercial for ITV and Sky AdSmart, a 35mm brand campaign for Cohere shot across Canada, Norway, Cornwall and Portugal, and brand films for Plankbridge, Heligan, Kathmandu, Belvoir and Airbnb.

Lifestyle brands sell a life. Retail brands get about twelve weeks a season to sell it in. Most campaign content splits the difference badly — a lookbook with a drone shot over it, a product film with a piano under it — and ends up in a marketing folder rather than on a screen anyone chose to watch. We work the other way round. Find the person the brand is actually for, film the day the product belongs to, and let the clothes, the cards, the hut or the cordial turn up the way they would in real life. Then cut the whole season’s package from that one shoot, because that’s what the budget has to do anyway.

THE WORK

Recent lifestyle productions

Cohere · Brand campaign on 35mm · Canada, Norway, Cornwall and Portugal

AI For Independence

Four people in four countries, each filmed doing the thing their work usually crowds out… boiling maple syrup in an Ontario wood, reading in an Oslo park, walking the cliff path on the Lizard, out in the Atlantic at sunset. Shot entirely on 35mm motion picture film. No dialogue.

It launched in September 2026 across YouTube, connected TV and out-of-home in four markets: roughly 190 finished assets, cut from one negative and one grade. Delivered in-house, direct to brand. Directed by Charlie Coombes.

FatFace · Seasonal brand campaigns ×7 · Tenerife, the Lake District, the Peak District and the South Coast

Seven campaigns and counting

Spring 2023 was the first: a documentary-led film with the Fletcher family on their farm, shot to give an insight into a life rather than a rail of clothes. FatFace came back for spring 2024 and brought the Fletchers with them. Then summer 2024 — five days in Tenerife, the brand’s biggest production of the year, lifestyle narrative and lookbook in one shoot. Then Mothershoppers’ The Edit at the Bombay Sapphire Distillery, Copper & Black for the women’s evening range, Flowers & Falling Leaves for autumn, and a stripped-back spring 2025 lookbook on the South Coast.

Seven briefs, one production team. The look holds across three years because we direct, shoot, grade and cut every campaign in-house.

Whistlefish · 30-second TV commercial · ITV and Sky AdSmart · Cornwall

A first TV ad for a scaling brand

Whistlefish, a Cornish art and greeting-card brand, had never been on television. The brief: a warm film that feels like Cornwall, aspirational and relatable at the same time, making the point that a card is for the small occasions as much as the big ones. We cast two professional leads and filled the rest of the frame with real families, shot in one hero home and the coastline beside it, and took the finished spot through Clearcast clearance and Peach delivery to ITV and Sky AdSmart — texted and textless masters, plus 20- and 10-second cutdowns for digital. First ad, first time, cleared.

Plankbridge · Brand film · Dorset

Huts to hunker down in

Plankbridge build shepherd’s huts, and helped start the revival. Richard, the founder, gave us the brief in eight words: “Make us a film that gives us goosebumps.” We pushed it one step further — a film about why people buy a hut and what happens inside one, rather than how they’re made — and delivered it with a two-person crew, on schedule and on budget, with scouting, casting, shooting and grading all in-house. His verdict is below.

KYN · Meet The Makers series · Fulham and Hurlingham, London

A care home you’d love to grow old in

KYN is London’s most considered care home, and it commissions like a luxury hospitality brand. The Meet The Makers series profiles the people behind it: interior designer Nina Campbell and print designer Adam Ellis on the rooms, landscape designer Randle Siddeley on the gardens, head chef Tristan on food that feeds memory as well as body. Forty-plus films across a three-year partnership. Their home is our healthcare video production page — cross-referenced here because the casting, the craft and the audience are lifestyle through and through.

HOW WE WORK

Beautiful moments. Made Easy.

It’s the reason lifestyle and retail brands come to us. We’re a branded micro-documentary company, and every format we work in — seasonal campaigns, lookbooks, TV commercials, brand films — is built the same way: find the real moment first, then build the script around it.

A lifestyle film isn’t a brochure. Nobody needs the jumper from four angles; they need to feel the Sunday it’s for. That comes from texture as much as story: sand still in the footwell, a kettle going on in a hut while it rains, a kitchen table with too many people round it, the last twenty minutes of light on a Tenerife afternoon. Fleeting things, half-caught, that add up to a sense of what the brand is about before anyone has said a word.

So we work it like documentary. Cast people whose lives already look like the brief, shoot the day as it happens, and let the styling and the shot list sit underneath rather than on top. The Fletcher family on their own farm, across two FatFace seasons. Real households around two actors in a Whistlefish spot with thirty seconds to land. A founder’s brief for Plankbridge, “give us goosebumps”, answered with what happens inside a hut, never how it’s built. A man boiling maple syrup in an Ontario wood while the company he founded ran without him.

Documentary where the feeling lives. Script where the brand needs it. Call it a docummercial. That’s the film.

OUR APPROACH

How we make these films

What changes between a one-day product film and a five-day campaign is how long each stage takes, not what happens in it.

Brief.

A call or a meeting: what the product is, when it launches, where the film runs, what it’s meant to change. We ask about budget here, because the number sets the crew size. No written brief? We write one back to you and you correct it.

Treatment, budget and schedule.

Three documents: the treatment (idea, people, locations, reference frames), a line-by-line budget, and a schedule working back from launch. Plus the deliverables matrix — every film, duration, ratio and still, listed. Free, and yours whether or not we go ahead.

Pre-production.

Casting (real people, agency talent, or both), recce, permits, styling and props, kit list, call sheets, risk assessments, weather plan. About two days of this for a one-day brand story; weeks for a multi-location campaign. You approve cast and locations before we spend.

Shoot.

Crew sized to the job: a director-DoP and a producer for a small brand story (Plankbridge was a crew of two), a full unit with stylist, art department and sound for a campaign (FatFace in Tenerife ran five days). We shoot from the shot list; the director keeps real things happening in front of it. You’re welcome on set.

Offline edit

Hero film first, as a rough cut, with two review rounds built in. Then the cutdowns, product edits and every ratio on the matrix. A one-day shoot is around five days in the edit. End-to-end post production capabilities in-house.

Online, grade and sound.

Colour grade, mix, titles, captions, music cleared for the channels on the matrix. A TVC goes to Clearcast at script and at final master, then out to broadcaster spec (Whistlefish: 30-second master, texted and textless, 20 and 10 cutdowns, via Peach).

Delivery.

Every file on the matrix, named and specced per platform, plus stills and clean textless masters so your team can re-version later.

FORMATS

What we produce for lifestyle & retail brands

Every format below is something we’ve delivered for a lifestyle or retail client. Not a menu, a track record.

Brand Films

The film that sets how a brand looks and sounds for the next three years. Cohere on 35mm across four countries; Plankbridge with a crew of two; Kathmandu; Heligan. Scale changes, the directorial intent doesn’t.

Maker and founder stories

Micro-documentaries about the people behind the product. KYN’s Meet The Makers, Plankbridge, JUBEL Beer’s founder film, Airbnb’s Cornish hosts. The format that works when the brand is the people.

TV commercials

Broadcast-ready spots, creative through Clearcast clearance and Peach delivery. Whistlefish’s first ad on ITV and Sky AdSmart; Twycross Zoo’s national Easter TVC. More on our TV commercial production page.

Seasonal campaigns and lookbooks

For brands that live by the calendar: spring/summer, autumn/winter, range launches. Narrative film, lookbook edit and social package from one production window. Seven campaigns for FatFace is the benchmark.

Brand activations and partnerships

Stunt and partnership content built to earn coverage, not fill a feed. The Domino’s Glastonbury jetpack delivery: 8.81M views, 78 media pieces. Kärcher × RNLI’s Float To Live.

Product & e-commerce

Product films and lookbook content shot with campaign production values, planned for every ratio from the start. Copper & Black for FatFace’s evening range; 41 distinct screen dimensions delivered for Cohere, from underground panels to connected TV.

WHERE WE WORK

Lifestyle films, UK-wide and beyond

Lifestyle briefs go where the life is. FatFace has taken us to Tenerife, the Lake District, the Peak District and the South Coast. Cornwall — where we keep a studio — gave us Whistlefish, the QASIMI artist film, the Airbnb host series, Heligan’s brand campaigns and the Lizard leg of the Cohere shoot. Cohere’s other three legs were Ontario, Oslo and Ericeira. We’re headquartered in London with crews in Manchester, Bristol and Cornwall, which for coast-led and outdoor brands usually means the crew is already within a couple of hours of the location.

If your brand, your stakeholders and your stockists are in the capital, the city page goes deeper: lifestyle and retail video production in London.

FAQ

Questions lifestyle and retail commissioners ask us

How much does lifestyle and retail video production cost in the UK?

From £9,000 for a brand story or product film, from £25,000 for a brand film or TV commercial, and from £80,000 per year for a campaign programme or retainer. What moves the number: shoot days, locations, talent and styling, and how many deliverables the campaign needs. We itemise talent, wardrobe and usage separately so you can see exactly where the money goes.

Can you produce TV commercials for retail brands?

Yes. Whistlefish’s first-ever commercial — a 30-second spot on ITV and Sky AdSmart — and Twycross Zoo’s national Easter TVC both came through our pipeline: creative development, shoot, Clearcast pre-clearance, Peach delivery, texted and textless masters and digital cutdowns. We manage the compliance from clearance to delivery so a brand going on television for the first time doesn’t have to learn it.

Can one shoot deliver a whole campaign’s content?

Yes, if the deliverables are planned at treatment stage rather than in the edit. FatFace’s seasonal shoots come home as a hero film, lookbook edit, social cuts in every ratio and stills from one production window. For Cohere we cut roughly 190 assets across 41 screen dimensions from a single 35mm negative because the ratio plan was agreed before the shoot. Ask us for the deliverables matrix before you sign off the budget — it’s the most useful document in the process.

How long does a brand film or campaign take to produce?

A single brand story or product film can move in three to six weeks. A brand film or TVC typically runs six to ten weeks including Clearcast. A full campaign — creative development, recce, production and multi-format post — usually runs eight to twelve weeks. For retainer clients we work to your launch calendar and lock production windows around it, which is how FatFace has run for seven campaigns.

Do you work with craft and independent brands as well as national retailers?

Both, at the same standard. FatFace and H&M sit on this page beside a shepherd’s hut maker, a Cornish card brand and a craft beer. The Plankbridge brand film was delivered by a two-person crew, on budget, with every stage in-house; the FatFace Tenerife shoot ran for five days. The craft is the same. What changes is the scale of the production wrapped around it, and we’ll tell you honestly which one your brief needs.

Do you cast real people or professional models?

Whichever the film needs, and often both. FatFace’s most-used films followed a real family on their farm. Whistlefish’s TVC used two professional leads with real families around them, because a 30-second spot can’t wait for a natural moment. Cohere’s campaign used no actors. We handle casting, styling and release paperwork either way, and we’ll recommend which route fits the brand before we quote.

Do you shoot on film?

Yes. The Cohere campaign was shot on 35mm motion picture film across four countries, with the negative processed and 4K-scanned in the UK and graded in London. Film is a discipline as much as a look — a 400ft roll runs about three and a half minutes, so every set-up is boarded and every roll accounted for — and it suits brands that want the campaign to feel made rather than captured. Most lifestyle work we shoot digitally; we’ll tell you when film is worth the difference.

Do you produce lifestyle and retail films outside London?

Yes — this is our national lifestyle and retail page for exactly that reason. FatFace campaigns have taken us to Tenerife, the Lakes, the Peaks and the South Coast; Whistlefish, QASIMI, Airbnb and Heligan were all shot in Cornwall, where we keep a studio. We’re headquartered in London with crews in Manchester, Bristol and Cornwall. For London-specific briefs, see lifestyle and retail video production in London.

What happens in a free creative workshop?

You bring the product, the launch and the problem — footfall, a new range, a first TV spot — and we return a treatment, a deliverables matrix, a budget and a schedule built around your launch date. No charge, no obligation — and you leave with the deliverables matrix whether or not we end up working together.
