Our Story
Here Now Films was founded in 2016 by Ed Smit and Oliver Couch with a single, unwavering mission: to bring the calibre of work typically reserved for big-budget TV advertising to a far wider audience.
It started with a simple frustration. Across the industry, we kept hearing the same old story: “That’s just how much video costs.” But we knew there had to be a better way.
What began as two best mates making free films for local brands and charities they believed in has grown into an award-winning London video production agency working with some of the UK’s, and the world’s, most recognisable names.
We’re not interested in being the cheapest. We are interested in one thing: making the very best, accessible.
We’re here to redefine the market. By in-housing world-class talent (only outsourcing when we must) and eliminating the wasteful agency model, we are redefining the standard of cinema-quality production for everyone.

Awards & Milestones
Here Now Films is founded by Ed Smit and Ollie Couch.
Delivered our first national campaign for Fulfil Nutrition.
Commissioned by BBC World, delivering a documentary to a global audience of over 400 million.
Began our ongoing video partnership with Tate Galleries & landed a national campaign for Airbnb.
Started a 3-year, 7-campaign partnership with UK fashion brand FatFace.
Moved our creative HQ to London (Shoreditch) and launched our national UK Film Crew Service.
A milestone year:
- Morgan Cartlidge joins Here Now Films as a Partner.

Oliver Couch

Ollie leads creative development and delivery on every single production. From early concept through to final colour grade, he ensures every film meets Here Now’s standards for storytelling, craft, and emotional impact.

Morgan is the logistical and production powerhouse who makes the impossible happen. From landing a jet pack at Glastonbury to managing global documentary shoots, he ensures every project is delivered flawlessly.

Meg is the creative and organisational force who guides our projects from first call to final delivery. Working across commercial and documentary work Meg balances creative ambition with on-the-ground reality, ensuring our clients’ stories are told with clarity and passion.
