GMR Marketing
34 days in France across both Games: the crew, the kit and an editor on site, turning out Xfinity’s athlete films every day at Team USA House.
Paris, Paralympic Games, 2024.
GMR Marketing, part of Omnicom, one of the world’s biggest advertising holding companies, built a small studio for Xfinity inside Team USA House: an athlete sits down, plays a 60-second game of questions, and goes. We organised the crew and the kit to run it, and stayed for both Games: 34 days in France, shooting and cutting every day, with an editor on site so the films went out while the Games were still on. Most of Team USA’s biggest names sat on that sofa, the sprinters included.
01The brief
Two cameras, sound, light and an editor.
GMR’s must-haves: two camera operators with kit, an audio tech, an editor, and lighting for the space. We put the whole unit together and kept it running for both Games.
The set was a sofa in a credentialed content studio inside Team USA House, away from the public House. GMR supplied the motion graphics: the intros, lower thirds, question cards, timer and outro.
02The camera plan
Five angles, two of them ours.
- A and BOur two crewed Sony FX6s.
- Built inThree more cameras fixed into the set by GMR. Our crew pulled their cards.
- AnglesA centre wide, a side mid, a high front wide, a high back wide, and a side wide for the seating area.
