Arts & Heritage
Video Production

Four separate productions for Tate Galleries. The film that opened the Sony World Photography Awards 2026 at Somerset House. A hundred years of one London firm told in a single documentary. Culture is made by people, so we film the people, and this is our national page for that work.

Films Produced

Films made with cultural and heritage organisations UK wide.

Here Now Films is a video production company headquartered London, specialising in branded micro documentaries, human-led customer stories and brand films for technology and AI companies across the UK and internationally, with teams in Manchester, Bristol and Cornwall.

An ongoing artist series for Tate, four separate productions and counting. The Outstanding Contribution to Photography film for the Sony World Photography Awards 2026, premiered at Somerset House. A centenary documentary for JA Brooks. A concept film for Xanadoo, the new cultural destination from the founders of the Eden Project. A brand film for Coloro, the colour system used by design studios worldwide.

Real people, real places, stories filmed as they happen. That is the method on every film here, whether the subject is a Sámi artist installing twenty years of work or a welder at a firm that is still family-led after a century.

Artist films for Tate

Tate’s artists make work about the things people actually argue over: identity, land, who gets to belong where. Our ongoing series films them as they work. Two days with Ro Robertson, in the thick of their process, for the Modern Thresholds exhibition. Time with Outi Pieski as she brought her first major UK exhibition together, twenty years of Sámi art in one place.

The films sit on Tate’s own channels and play to a global membership. Four productions in, the partnership is still going.

Tate St Ives · Historical exhibition documentary

Barbara Hepworth: Art & Life

For a landmark exhibition on one of Britain’s most influential sculptors, Tate St Ives wanted a film, not a walk-through with music. The documentary moves through each space of the show and breaks away to the places Hepworth drew from, part exhibition record, part micro documentary on a life.

It was made for Tate’s paying members worldwide, an audience that knows the work and notices when a film doesn’t.

Joel Meyerowitz for the Sony World Photography Awards

Each year the awards honour one photographer for a lifetime’s contribution to the medium. In 2026 that was Joel Meyerowitz, and we made the film that introduced him to the room. Our senior producer, Meg Amos, spent the day with Joel and his wife Maggie at home; our editor, Alexander Webb, built the film around his voice rather than his CV.

It opened the ceremony at Somerset House on 16 April 2026, alongside a retrospective of his work. Joel wrote to Meg afterwards: “A real treasure. A special day.

JA Brooks · Heritage documentary · London

One hundred years of JA Brooks

A century-old London mechanical services firm wanted its centenary marked through its people: the welders, fabricators and families behind the name. We filmed at the Pod factory and on live London sites: families working side by side, interviews taken mid-job, archive photographs cut against the present day, a three-act story built on spirit, history and family.

“The feedback over the last week has been brilliant. A lot of people feeling proud,” wrote Joe Robson, Managing Surveyor. The film now works internally, at anniversary events, and in recruitment.

WHAT ARE WE

A collection is hard to connect with. An person isn’t.

It’s the reason arts and heritage organisations keep finding us. We’re a branded micro documentary company, and every format we work in, customer stories, brand films, micro documentaries, is built around people: what they’re up against, what they’re building, and what happens when it works.

So when the subject is culture, we don’t change the method. We find the person. An artist two days into an installation. A photographer looking back on sixty years of looking. A welder whose surname is on the building. The institution matters because of the people inside it. That’s the film.

FORMATS

What we produce for arts and heritage organisations.

Every format below is something we’ve delivered for a cultural client. Not a fingur in the air, a track record. Six forms the work takes; most are variations on the branded micro documentary.

Artist profile films

Interview-led films about artists and makers, built for institutional channels and membership audiences. The Tate series is the model, or even our work for airbnb.

Exhibition documentaries

Films that give an exhibition a life beyond its run. Our Barbara Hepworth film moves through the show and out to the places she worked from, made for members who couldn’t be in the room.

Heritage documentaries

Centenary films and institutional histories built on archive, careful interview design and restraint. One hundred years of JA Brooks, told in one film. The wider discipline lives at our documentary studio.

Ceremony and event films

Somerset House on ceremony day for the Sony World Photography Awards. The Pollinator Garden at Chelsea Flower Show. Small crews who know the protocol and deliver a finished film, not rushes.

Concept and pitch films

Films that put a cultural vision in front of funders, councils and partners. The Xanadoo concept film did exactly that for the founders of the Eden Project. Scoped like any brand film, aimed at a room of decision-makers.

Campaign and social editions

Multi-format packages cut from the hero film for Instagram, LinkedIn and email. The Weaver shipped as one hero film and three social edits from a single shoot day, the way our corporate production packages usually do.

WHERE WE WORK

Arts and heritage films,
UK wide

This work takes us where the culture is. Tate St Ives for the Hepworth exhibition. Somerset House for the Sony World Photography Awards. Live construction sites across London for JA Brooks. A textile studio in Cornwall for The Weaver. We’re headquartered in London with teams in Manchester, Bristol and Cornwall, so multi-day, multi-location shoots are ordinary for us rather than an exception.

FAQ

Art & Heritage video production FAQs

How much does arts and heritage video production cost in the UK?

From £9,000 for an artist profile or exhibition film, from £20,000 for a heritage documentary, and from £40,000 a year for an ongoing content partnership. What moves the number: shoot days, locations, archive licensing and post-production complexity. We’ll walk you through it on a call.

What is a branded micro documentary?

A short documentary made for a brand: real people, unscripted interviews, filmed where the work happens, cut to a length people actually watch. It is Here Now Films’ home format, and the artist films and heritage documentaries on this page are built with the same method.

Do you have experience filming in galleries and museums?

Yes. We’re Tate’s ongoing video production partner, with four separate productions including work at Tate St Ives, and we produced the Outstanding Contribution to Photography film for the Sony World Photography Awards 2026 at Somerset House. Galleries have real constraints — light levels, sound, access windows, visitor management, artwork handling — and we plan around all of them.

Can you make artist profile films?

It’s one of our core formats. For Tate we’ve spent days in the studio with Ro Robertson and time with Outi Pieski as she installed twenty years of work; the films sit on Tate’s YouTube channel and play to their global membership. The method is documentary: long interviews, no autocue, and enough patience that people stop performing and start talking.

Do you work with heritage organisations and centenary projects?

Yes. Our centenary documentary for JA Brooks told a hundred years of a family-led London firm, filmed at their Pod factory and on live sites, with archive photographs cut against the present day. Heritage work needs archival research, careful interview design and the judgement to let a long story breathe.

Can you film awards ceremonies and cultural events?

Yes, and we deliver a finished film rather than a folder of rushes. The Sony World Photography Awards film was made around a live ceremony day at Somerset House; the Pollinator Garden film was made at Chelsea Flower Show for the Royal Entomological Society. Small, experienced crews, planned around the protocol of the day.

Do you produce arts and heritage films outside London?

Yes, this is our national page for exactly that reason. Recent work runs from Tate St Ives in Cornwall to Somerset House in London, and we have teams in Manchester, Bristol and Cornwall alongside the London HQ. For London-specific briefs, our arts and heritage video production in London page goes deeper.
