About The Mid-weight Editor Role

Location: Remote. UK-based. This is a remote-first role. While London-based candidates are preferred, we’re open to the right person anywhere in the UK.
Type: In-house position
Rate: £35,000–£42,000 depending on experience
Start: Early September 2026 (or by mutual agreement)

At Here Now Films, no two edits are ever the same. We’re a company of two hats. On the hand we make beautiful, well crafted corporate micro docs for the likes of AlTi Global, and Beyond AI. The other hat is as a passionate branded micro doc agency for charities, social and environmental organisations and projects we care about. One month you could telling the story of a global corporation and how they are shifting in the face of global headwinds, the next month you could be crafting an intimate portrait of legendary street photographer Joel Meyerowitz. The next, shaping feature-length documentaries filmed across Africa, India and Japan, editing films supporting drug recovery charities in Cornwall, or bringing award-winning environmental stories about the UK’s peatlands to life.

We believe every story deserves the same level of craft, regardless of who it’s for. We’re looking for an editor who shares that mindset. Someone who embraces the day-to-day realities of post-production with the same care and attention they bring to ambitious documentaries and creative campaigns. Every timeline matters, every frame counts, and every project contributes to what we’re building.

We work primarily in DaVinci Resolve, so we’re looking for someone who is confident editing, colour grading and creating motion graphics within the Resolve ecosystem. Experience in Adobe Premiere Pro is beneficial, but DaVinci Resolve should be your primary editing platform.

Show Us Your Work

Please send us your CV and portfolio to careers@herenow.film.

We’re looking for one or two pieces of work that genuinely reflect your creative vision and editorial voice. For each project, include a short note (50–100 words) explaining your role, the creative decisions you made, and how you helped shape the final film.

Rather than a traditional cover letter, we’d much rather hear about your creative voice. Tell us what excites you creatively, how you approach storytelling and what you bring to the cutting room. We’re far more interested in how you think than in polished corporate introductions.

The Role

As a Film Editor at Here Now Films, you’ll craft documentary, branded and commercial films, working closely with producers, directors and the wider creative team from first assembly through to final delivery.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Editing documentaries, branded films and commercial campaigns.
  • Working closely with producers, directors and clients to develop the strongest possible story.
  • Creating social cutdowns, trailers and campaign deliverables.
  • Colour grading and finishing projects within DaVinci Resolve.
  • Creating motion graphics, titles and simple animations where required.
  • Managing project timelines, exports and final deliveries across multiple productions.
  • Collaborating with our in-house creative team and growing freelance roster.
  • Contributing to the development of new workflows, creative standards and the future of our post-production department.

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrable experience editing documentary, branded and/or commercial films.
  • Strong storytelling and editorial instincts across both long and short-form content.
  • DaVinci Resolve should be your primary editing platform, with the ability to work in Adobe Premiere Pro when required.
  • Experience creating motion graphics, titles and graphic animations within DaVinci Resolve (Fusion) and/or Adobe After Effects is a plus
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proactive, self-directed approach with the confidence to take ownership of an edit.
  • A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills and a willingness to contribute creatively throughout the filmmaking process.

Technical Requirements

  • A reliable high-speed internet connection capable of efficiently uploading and downloading large media files.
  • A suitable home editing environment capable of supporting a professional remote workflow.

Why Join Here Now Films?

We’re building something special at Here Now Films, and we’re looking for someone who wants to help shape where it goes next.

With an exciting slate of projects already underway and new client partnerships in the pipeline, we’re entering a period of significant growth. As our post-production department continues to expand, you’ll play an active role in shaping its future, helping define new workflows and creative standards while collaborating closely with our in-house creative team and growing freelance roster.

This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact from day one. You’ll work across a wide variety of films, continue developing your craft alongside experienced filmmakers, and help build a post-production department designed for the future.
