Ed, Ollie, Morgan, Meg and Alex run the work day to day, from the first call to the final grade. Every film is made by a small team around one of them, so you’re close to the decisions and the people making them.
Most of our producers and editors are in London. We have offices on City Road, in Manchester, Bristol and Newquay, and post runs remotely. We crew shoots across the UK, Europe and the US from a database of 2,800+ freelancers.

How we hire
We tell you where you stand at every stage.
- You send your work: a link to your reel or portfolio, a CV if you have one, and a short note on one film you’re proud of.
- A 15 to 20 minute call with the person you’d be working with.
- A short practical task or a walk through your portfolio, depending on the role. It’s time-boxed, and we’ll tell you how long it should take.
- A final conversation with the hiring lead and someone you’d work alongside.
Questions
Does Here Now Films hire freelancers?
Yes. Most of the crew on our shoots are freelance, booked for each job from our crew database of 2,800+ people. Producers, directors, camera, sound, editors and colourists all join the same way: add your details once and the whole team can see them when we crew up.
How much does Here Now Films pay freelance crew?
On crew hire jobs we pay crew the full APA/Bectu card rate for the role, and charge our booking fee and any kit to the client on top. Overtime follows the APA card for your grade. Staff roles list the salary on the job page.
Where are Here Now Films’ offices?
Our office is at 124 City Road, London. We also have offices at Jactin House in Ancoats, Manchester, on Gloucester Road in Bristol, and on The Crescent in Newquay, where we started. Most of our producers and editors are in London, and post runs remotely, so editing roles are often open across the UK.
What should I send with an application?
One or two films that show your eye, each with 50 to 100 words on what you did and one decision you made. A CV helps. A cover letter doesn’t: we’d rather see how you think about the work than read a polished introduction.
