The Turner Twins
Three electric hydrofoil films for Flite, then the documentary of an electric paramotor world record.
Hugo and Ross Turner use expeditions to show how far electric travel can go, and twice they’ve asked us to film one. First came three electric hydrofoil films for Flite, across the Isles of Scilly, the Dune du Pilat and the French Alps. Then the twins flew a tandem electric paramotor to 2,613 metres over Val d’Isère, a world record, and we made the documentary.

High Energy
Documentary, trailers, sponsor cuts and stills · Wiltshire, Dartmoor and Val d’Isère
In February 2024 the twins asked us to film their attempt on the altitude record for an electric paramotor. We followed it from the build at Parajet in Wiltshire to a test flight over Dartmoor, then to Val d’Isère, where on 30 October they took a tandem electric paramotor to 2,613 metres. The FAI ratified the record.
Ollie Couch directed and shot the film, with Morgan Cartlidge on drone and stills. Alongside the documentary, which launched on Waterbear in February 2025, we made a trailer, 30- and 15-second cuts and a sponsor trailer for Panasonic Toughbook.
2021 · Brand films
Three films for Flite
Three brand films, a director’s cut, portrait versions and stills · The Isles of Scilly, the Dune du Pilat and the French Alps
The twins pitched Flite, the electric hydrofoil maker, a series that would take its boards to three very different places, and brought us in to film it. Harmony was shot in the Isles of Scilly in September 2021. Possibilities, on the shallows below the Dune du Pilat, and Purity, on Lac de Serre-Ponçon in the Alps, followed that December.
Ollie Couch shot all three, with Adam Watson on drone, second camera and in the water. We edited and graded them ourselves, each to its own grade as Flite asked, and the films went on Flite’s homepage when its new site launched in February 2022. The director’s cut, all three in one, is ours.

The twins’ adventure
The expeditions and the partnerships are the twins’ own. We worked for them, so the films say what they and their partners needed, and the twins decide where the films go.
A shot list for a record
Ollie’s shot list ran from the build at Parajet and the test flight over Dartmoor to the dawn prep, the take-off and an evening flight in the Alps, so the film had a story whatever the weather did on the day.
Two on location
On the record we kept it to two: Ollie on camera, Morgan on drone and stills. In the air, the cameras rode on the twins’ helmets and arms.
Sound at altitude
We wired lavalier mics into the twins’ helmet headsets, so they can be heard over the motor in the air.
Three films, three grades
Flite wanted its three films to feel distinct from each other, so each has its own grade. Each came with portrait versions for Instagram and a set of stills.
“The film is absolutely brilliant and the brands are very happy.”

Questions
Who made the Turner Twins’ paramotor world record film?
Here Now Films made High Energy, the documentary of the Turner Twins’ electric paramotor altitude record. Ollie Couch directed and shot it, from the build at Parajet to Val d’Isère, where on 30 October 2024 Hugo and Ross Turner flew a tandem electric paramotor to 2,613 metres, a record ratified by the FAI.
How do you film a world record attempt?
Film the build-up as well as the attempt, so there’s a film whatever happens on the day. For High Energy we followed the build at Parajet and a test flight over Dartmoor before the Alps. In the air, the cameras rode on the twins’ helmets and arms, with microphones wired into their headsets.
What did Here Now Films make for Flite?
Three brand films for Flite’s electric hydrofoil boards, with the Turner Twins in 2021: Harmony in the Isles of Scilly, Possibilities at the Dune du Pilat and Purity on Lac de Serre-Ponçon in the French Alps. We shot, edited and graded all three, each to its own grade, with portrait versions and stills, and later cut a director’s cut of our own.
Do you film sport and adventure in remote places?
Yes. For the Turner Twins we’ve filmed in the water off the Isles of Scilly, on an Alpine lake in December and above Val d’Isère at dawn, with a crew small enough to carry the kit and still bring back a finished film. More on our sport and adventure video production.
What does an adventure documentary cost?
Our productions start at £9,500. The number moves with location days, travel, crew size and how many cuts you need. High Energy ran across three locations in two countries with a crew of two, and came with a trailer, short cuts and a sponsor trailer.
