A world record set above the Alps. A documentary broadcast to 400 million. A pizza delivered to Glastonbury by jetpack.

Here Now Films is a UK video production company, headquartered in London, that produces adventure documentaries, brand film series and stunt films for sport and outdoor brands — an electric paramotor altitude world record filmed in the Alps with the Turner Twins for Panasonic, a three-part electric hydrofoil series for Flite across the Alps, France and the Isles of Scilly, a BBC World documentary broadcast to an audience of over 400 million, a Kathmandu brand film following Sophie Hellyer across the South West, and a jetpack pizza delivery for Domino’s at Glastonbury that drew 8.81 million views and 78 pieces of coverage.

Adventure work is documentary work at its least forgiving. The record attempt happens once. The swell window closes. There were four cans of jet fuel at Glastonbury, not five. So the production is built for exactly that: small units that move at the speed of the story, aerial and in-water capability, safety planning treated as seriously as the edit, and turnarounds measured in days when the moment demands it. The Domino’s film was cut and delivered within a day of the shoot, before the festival opened.

THE WORK

TURNER TWINS × PANASONIC · ADVENTURE DOCUMENTARY · THE ALPS

An Electric World Record

The Turner Twins mounted an electric motor onto the back of a paraglider and flew it higher than anyone had before: the world record for the highest altitude achieved in an electric paramotor, set in the Alps and filmed by us from the ground and the air. Trailers cut from the shoot ran on the Twins’ channels and on Waterbear’s streaming platform.

It was our second expedition with the Twins, after the Flite series below. Adventure talent comes back to crews they can rely on in the field.

FLITE × TURNER TWINS · BRAND FILM SERIES · ALPS, FRANCE & ISLES OF SCILLY

An Electric Adventure

Flite build the world’s most advanced electric hydrofoils and wanted to know how far they could be pushed. The answer became a three-part series: a freezing lake high in the Alps as winter closed in, the shallow channels beneath the Dune du Pilat on France’s Atlantic coast, and heavy granite-shore swell around the Isles of Scilly.

Our role scaled with the terrain: drone, in-water and land units on the mountain leg; the full production, from story development through post, on the islands.

BBC WORLD · BROADCAST DOCUMENTARY · CORNWALL

Survival: To the Brink & Back

Robin Hanbury-Tenison crossed continents by foot, hovercraft and jeep, founded Survival International, then very nearly died of COVID. We followed him from hospital to the summit of one of the South West’s highest peaks, in a film that began as a passion project after a local news story.

The BBC picked it up and re-commissioned it as a 20-minute documentary, broadcast on BBC World to an audience of over 400 million. It’s still on iPlayer.

KATHMANDU · BRAND FILM · THE SOUTH WEST

The Weekend Adventure

Kathmandu is one of the world’s largest outdoor brands, and was almost unknown in the UK. To introduce its urban adventure range, we followed adventure and sustainability influencer Sophie Hellyer from her front door to a string of quiet South West adventure spots over one weekend: five outfit changes, one shoot day.

We sourced every location, shot-listed, cleared permissions and delivered the whole production. The film ran on Kathmandu’s main site and channels.

DOMINO’S × GRAVITY INDUSTRIES · PR ACTIVATION FILM · GLASTONBURY

A Pizza, Delivered by Jetpack

PR agency Jam Prime came to us with a stunt: deliver a Domino’s pizza to Glastonbury by jetpack. One shoot day, four cans of jet fuel, a press photographer, an FPV pilot flying a 6K cine camera, and a two-person video unit. The edit was delivered within a day, before the festival opened.

The story drew 8.81 million views and 78 pieces of coverage, The Independent included. High consequence, no second take — which is most of what this sector is.

WHAT ARE WE

Spectacle is everywhere. Stakes are not.

It’s the reason sport and outdoor brands come to us. We’re a branded micro-documentary company, and every format we work in, adventure documentaries, brand film series, stunt films, is built around people: what they’re attempting, what it costs them, and what happens when it works.

So whatever the adventure is, an altitude record, a weekend with five outfit changes, a jetpack with four cans of fuel, we don’t change the method. We find the person. Twin brothers flying an electric paramotor higher than anyone ever had. An explorer who nearly died of COVID, climbing from a hospital bed to a summit. One adventurer leaving her own front door. A rider with one take and a festival waiting. The footage is spectacular because something real is at stake for someone. That’s the film.

OUR APPROACH

Filming what won’t happen twice

Most of the work on this page could not be re-shot. The world record stands, the swell moved on, the jet fuel is spent. So preparation does the work a reshoot never will: safety planning sits beside the treatment, contingency days sit inside the budget, and the crew is small, ready and exactly where the moment happens.

Moments that don’t repeat

A world record is months of planning for one flight. The Paramotor shoot ran ground and air units around a single attempt in the Alps, and the trailers cut from it went to the Twins’ channels and Waterbear. Domino’s ran the same discipline at the other speed: one shoot day, an edit delivered within a day, the story out before Glastonbury opened. Different clocks, same rule — be ready, because the moment won’t be.

Crews that scale with the terrain

Flite’s three-parter needed three different productions. On the alpine leg we ran drone, in-water and land units around a freezing lake; on the Isles of Scilly, with heavy swell against granite shores, we delivered the whole production, story development through post. The unit is sized to the terrain, not the other way round.

The person inside the spectacle

The BBC didn’t re-commission Survival: To the Brink & Back for the view from the top. They re-commissioned it for Robin, an explorer in his eighties climbing back from the edge of his life, and over 400 million people watched. Kathmandu works the same way at brand-film scale: a range introduced through one person’s weekend, from Sophie Hellyer’s front door to the South West’s quiet corners. The action earns the attention. The person keeps it.

FORMATS

What we produce for sport & outdoor brands

Every format below is something we’ve delivered for a sport, outdoor or adventure brand. Not a menu, a track record.

Adventure documentaries

Expedition and record-attempt films with aerial, in-water and ground units, made by our documentary production studio. The Paramotor World Record is the benchmark.

Brand film series

Multi-episode brand video production built around talent and terrain. Flite’s three-parter ran mountains, dunes and islands on one battery platform.

Stunt & PR activation films

One-take, high-consequence shoots edited at speed, with specialist film crews assembled per job: FPV pilots, press photographers, safety cover. Domino’s was shot in a day and delivered in a day.

Broadcast documentary

Long-form factual to broadcaster standard. Survival: To the Brink & Back was re-commissioned by the BBC and broadcast to over 400 million.

Athlete & adventurer profiles

Character-led films that hold up beside the action: Sophie Hellyer for Kathmandu, and two expeditions with the Turner Twins.

Campaign & social cuts

Trailers and cutdowns built from hero shoots across our video production services. The Paramotor trailers ran on the Twins’ channels and Waterbear’s streaming platform.

WHERE WE WORK

Sport & adventure films, UK-wide

Adventure work goes where the conditions are. The paramotor record was set in the Alps; the Flite series ran from an alpine lake to the Dune du Pilat to the Isles of Scilly; the BBC film climbed a Cornish tor; Kathmandu crossed the South West; Domino’s flew at Glastonbury. We’re headquartered in London with crews in ManchesterBristol and Cornwall, so remote, multi-day, weather-dependent shoots are a normal week for us as a video agency.

If your brief is London-specific — a launch event, city shoot or stakeholder screening — the city page goes deeper: sport & adventure video production in London.

FAQ

Questions sport & adventure
commissioners ask us

How much does sport and adventure video production cost in the UK?

From £9,000 for a character profile, from £25,000 for a brand film, and from £80,000 per year for a series or retainer. Adventure work moves within those ranges for concrete reasons: remote locations, safety and rescue cover, marine and aerial units, and weather contingency days. We’ll trace the number back to the decisions behind it before anything is signed.

Can you film in remote or extreme locations?

Yes: it’s most of what this page shows. We’ve filmed a world record attempt in the Alps, electric hydrofoils on a freezing alpine lake, the channels beneath the Dune du Pilat, heavy swell around the Isles of Scilly, and an 80-year-old explorer climbing one of the South West’s highest peaks. Access, permissions, safety planning and contingency are built into pre-production, not improvised on the day.

Do you shoot aerial and FPV?

Yes. The Domino’s jetpack flight was filmed by an FPV pilot flying a 6K cine camera, and the Turner Twins projects ran drone units alongside ground and in-water teams. Where a job needs a specialist we don’t carry in-house, our film crew network covers it: FPV pilots, press photographers, water safety, and more.

Have you made broadcast documentaries?

Yes. Survival: To the Brink & Back began as our own passion project, was picked up by the BBC, re-commissioned as a 20-minute film, and broadcast on BBC World to an audience of over 400 million. It remains available on BBC iPlayer. Editorial, technical and legal broadcast standards are ones we’ve delivered to, not aspired to.

How fast can you turn an edit around?

When the moment demands it, within a day. The Domino’s Glastonbury film was shot in a single day and the edit delivered within a day of the shoot, so the story landed before the festival opened; 8.81 million views and 78 pieces of coverage followed. Most projects don’t need that speed; it matters that your production company can find it when one does.

Do you work with athletes and adventurers directly?

Yes. We’ve produced two expeditions with the Turner Twins, for Flite and for Panasonic, and followed Sophie Hellyer across the South West for Kathmandu. Talent-led shoots run on trust and preparation: clear safety briefs, small crews, and a camera that keeps up without getting in the way. Repeat commissions from the same adventurers are the reference we point to.

Do you produce sport and adventure video outside London?

Yes: this is our national sport and adventure page for exactly that reason. We’re headquartered in London with crews in Manchester, Bristol and Cornwall, and this sector’s work has run from the Alps to the Isles of Scilly to Glastonbury. For London-specific briefs, see our sport and adventure video production in London page.
