A Fireside Chat: The Future of AI in Wealth Management
A long-form fireside chat between AlTi Tiedemann Global and Nevis on how AI is reshaping wealth management — and why trust matters more, not less, as the technology evolves.
For an industry built on relationships, the rise of AI raises an awkward question: what happens to trust when the work of an advisor is increasingly mediated by a machine? AlTi Tiedemann Global commissioned Here Now Film to produce a fireside chat that didn’t dodge the question, that put their Chief Technology Officer in the same room as the CEO of the AI company building their orchestration layer, and asked them to think out loud about it.
This was our sixth production with AlTi, building on our ongoing creative partnership across their flagship brand film, the Social Progress Index launched at Davos, and the Purpose of Wealth series. It was also our first production with Nevis, the AI infrastructure company purpose-built for wealth managers.
The Brief
The wealth management industry is in the middle of its largest technological shift in a generation. AI is no longer a future-tense conversation — it’s already changing how portfolios are analysed, how advisors prepare for client meetings, and how firms operate at scale. But the firms that lead the next decade won’t necessarily be the ones with the most technology. They’ll be the ones that combine innovation with trust — and treat AI as the thing that gives advisors more time to do what only humans can do.
AlTi wanted to put that thesis on camera, and they wanted to do it properly. Not a panel recorded in a hotel ballroom. Not a webinar lit by ceiling tube lighting. A purpose-built fireside chat with the production weight of a brand film — three cameras, controlled lighting, intentional sound design, proper colour — designed to sit at the centre of their thought leadership strategy and to function as a category-defining piece on YouTube and across owned channels.
The brief was specific: pair AlTi’s Chief Technology Officer, Phil Dundas, with Nevis CEO Mark Swan, and have Nancy Curtin (AlTi’s Global Chief Investment Officer) host the conversation. Make it a real exchange, not a rehearsed back-and-forth. Cover the philosophical ground — trust, the role of the advisor, intergenerational wealth, who will lead the next era — without losing the practical specifics of what AI actually does inside a wealth management workflow.
Technology can inform decisions, but trust is what enables clients to act on them. Trust becomes the differentiator in an AI-enabled world.

Our Approach
A Cinematic Take on a Familiar Format
Fireside chats are usually filmed the way they sound — as recordings of conversations that happen to be captured on camera. Two chairs, a microphone or two, a fixed wide shot or a switcher cutting between speakers, often as part of an event or summit.
We treated this one differently. The fireside chat format is one of the most effective ways to surface senior thought leadership — it trades polish for credibility, lets the audience watch people genuinely think out loud — but it rarely receives the production attention that does justice to the content. Our brief was to give the format the visual weight of a brand film, while preserving the conversational honesty that makes a fireside chat work in the first place.
That meant three cameras with intentional lens choices, controlled lighting that flattered the subjects without sterilising the room, and a sound recording approach built for nuance rather than amplification. The conversation itself was lightly structured but unscripted — the speakers had a topic map, not a teleprompter.
Script & Narrative Development
Ahead of the shoot we worked closely with the AlTi and Nevis teams to develop a topic structure that would carry the conversation across two films: a primary fireside chat for the broader industry and an aligned product-focused interview about the AlTi–Nevis partnership specifically.
The primary chat was structured around six movements: the current state of AI in wealth management, the paradox that more powerful AI creates more demand for human trust, the evolving role of the advisor, the intergenerational wealth transfer, and the question of which firms will lead the next era — closing with a single takeaway from each speaker. The architecture was deliberate but invisible: the speakers felt like they were having a conversation, not delivering a script.
New York Production
The conversation needed to feel like New York without leaning on the cliché shots of skyline and yellow taxis. We worked with our trusted US production partner to source a private location near AlTi’s New York office — a space with the architectural character and natural light to give the film a sense of place without distracting from the conversation itself.
Production was led on the ground in New York with a US-based crew, with Here Now Film flying out from London to direct. Full international crewing and equipment coordination, location sourcing, props, and on-set production were managed end-to-end. Filmed on the 16th of April 2026.
Post-Production
All post-production was completed in-house at Here Now Film. The edit deliberately preserved the natural rhythm of the conversation — pauses, laughter, the moments where one speaker visibly thinks before responding — rather than tightening everything into a montage. Pace changes and B-roll were used sparingly, mostly as breathing room between dense conceptual sections.
The film was colour-graded to give the picture a warm, considered tone consistent with the broader AlTi brand visual language across our previous productions for them. Sound design was kept minimal — the conversation is the score.
We also delivered short-form cutdowns built for distribution across LinkedIn, YouTube and AlTi’s owned channels, alongside the long-form primary cut.
About the Format: What Is a Fireside Chat?
A fireside chat is a long-form, conversational interview, typically two or three voices in a lightly-structured dialogue, designed to surface ideas through real exchange rather than rehearsed delivery. The format was popularised by Franklin D. Roosevelt’s radio broadcasts in the 1930s, but its modern incarnation has become a fixture of corporate thought leadership, investor events, and senior executive communication.
The reason the format works is also the reason it’s so often filmed badly: a fireside chat trades polish for credibility. The audience watches people think out loud. Done well, it’s one of the most authentic forms of senior leadership communication available — more credible than a scripted brand film, more substantial than a social-first soundbite, more durable than a panel recording.
Done badly, it’s just two people on chairs in front of a logo wall.
The difference is the production. A fireside chat that looks and sounds cinematic — that’s lit properly, shot with intent, edited to preserve rhythm rather than chase pace — becomes a piece of long-term brand infrastructure. It anchors thought leadership campaigns, feeds LinkedIn and YouTube for months, and demonstrates that the firm takes its own ideas seriously enough to give them the production weight they deserve.
This is the kind of fireside chat we make at Here Now Film. If you’re commissioning one — for a launch, an industry conversation, a senior executive announcement, or as part of an ongoing thought leadership strategy — we’d love to talk.
