5-star Google reviews

We’ve been Tate Galleries’ ongoing video production partner for over three years.

Most video made for industrial and construction firms falls into one of two camps: a dry corporate explainer, or drone footage drifting over a finished site. We make a third thing. When JA Brooks, one of London’s leading mechanical services firms, turned 100, they didn’t want a glossy reel of completed projects. They wanted the welders, the fabricators, the designers and the families who’d built the name over a century. So that’s what we filmed.

The result was a centenary micro-documentary with the pace and energy of a modern brand film, but the depth of a proper portrait, real people, real workplaces, real voices, told from the inside out. It’s the same documentary rigour we bring to a Tate artist profile or a world-record adventure shoot, pointed at a sector that rarely gets filmed this way.

The practical stuff matters here more than most. We shot JA Brooks across their fabrication factory and multiple live London sites, directing interviews mid-job on the factory floor. We’re fully insured, we carry the health and safety and insurance documentation site managers need, and our crews know how to work around live operations without slowing the work down. Everything is scripted, shot and post-produced in-house, from our studio on City Road.

JA Brooks — Centenary Documentary — London

100 Years of JA Brooks

A short film marking 100 years of JA Brooks, from its wartime beginnings to the high-profile London projects it helps power today. This is a company where the founder’s name still echoes through the corridors and some staff have been on the tools for 40+ years. The brief was to do that legacy justice without slipping into nostalgia or corporate fluff.

We worked with JA Brooks from day one to shape the narrative, a three-act story built around Spirit, History and Family. We shot on location at their Pod factory and across multiple live London sites, directed fast-paced interviews on the job, filmed real families working side by side, and wove present-day footage together with archive photos, narrated voiceover and on-site soundbites. It launched in summer 2025 and now runs across internal comms, anniversary events, new-business pitches and recruitment drives.

“Thanks again Ed, the feedback over the last week has been brilliant. A lot of people feeling proud.”

What we make for industrial and construction firms

From centenary documentaries to recruitment films, built for an industry that’s used to being filmed badly.

Heritage & centenary films

Milestone and anniversary documentaries that honour a long history. The JA Brooks film traced a century across four generations, archive, present-day footage and voiceover, structured to last.

Recruitment films

The trades and engineering sectors have a hiring problem. A film that shows the culture and the craft, not just the vacancy, attracts people who stay. The JA Brooks film now runs in their recruitment.

Project & site films

Live-site filming that captures work as it happens, from CAD to construction. We’re insured and site-ready, and our crews work around live operations without holding up the job.

Brand films

The story of what your firm stands for, told through the people who build it, not a list of services and accreditations. Documentary depth with the pace of a modern brand film.

Manufacturing & process films

How something gets made, shot with the eye of a documentary rather than a tutorial. We’ve filmed technical and workshop processes for brands where precision and craft are the whole story.

Social & campaign content

Multi-format cutdowns from a single shoot, built for LinkedIn, recruitment campaigns and the website. Maximum use from one day on site.

Construction and industry video production, frequently asked questions

How much does industrial and construction video production cost in London?

The honest range: from £9,000 for a brand or recruitment film, from £20,000 for a heritage documentary like our JA Brooks centenary film, and from £40,000/year for an ongoing content partnership. What moves the number is the number of sites, crew size, archival research and how much the edit actually needs. We’ll walk you through the maths on a call.

Can you film on live construction and industrial sites?

Yes. We shot the JA Brooks centenary film across their fabrication factory and multiple live London sites, directing interviews mid-job on the factory floor. We’re fully insured, carry the relevant health and safety and insurance documentation, and our crews are used to working around live operations without getting in the way of the work.

Do you make recruitment films for trades and engineering firms?

Yes. The JA Brooks film is now used in their recruitment drives. The trades and engineering sectors have a real hiring challenge, and a film that shows the culture, the people and the craft, not just a list of vacancies, is one of the strongest tools for attracting people who’ll stay.

Can you produce a centenary or heritage film for an established firm?

This is one of our strongest formats. Our centenary film for JA Brooks told the story of one of London’s leading mechanical services firms, from its wartime beginnings to the projects it powers today, across four generations, built on a three-act structure of Spirit, History and Family. Heritage work needs archival research, careful interview design and the editorial judgement to honour a long history without slipping into nostalgia.

What’s the difference between a corporate video and a brand film for an industrial firm?

corporate video usually serves an internal or commercial function, explaining a process, satisfying stakeholders. A brand film tells the story of what the firm stands for. For JA Brooks, that meant filming the welders, fabricators, designers and families who built the name, rather than a reel of completed projects. The craft standard is the same; the intent is what shifts.

Where are you based in London?

124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, between Old Street and Angel. We also have studios in CornwallBristol and Manchester. Most of our industrial and construction work happens on location, on sites, in factories and workshops, but we plan, develop and post-produce everything from our London HQ.
